Bauhinia is a flowering plant belonging to the genus Bauhinia of the leguminous hematoxylinaceae. It is a small deciduous tree, commonly known as orchid tree, Indian cherry, Asian cherry, horseshoe bean, and white blooming redbud; Bauhinia, called Bauhinia in mainland China , Hong Kong and Macao known as Gongfen Bauhinia. It is native to southern China, Taiwan, India and the Malay Peninsula. Bauhinia blooms from March to May every year after deciduous. The flower has 5 pink petals, one of which has crimson stripes.
