植樹節是一些國家以法律規定宣傳保護樹木，並動員群眾參加以植樹造林為活動內容的節日。按時間長短可分為植樹日，植樹周或植樹月，總稱國際植樹節。通過這種活動，激發人們愛林，造林的熱情，提高人們對森林愛護的認識，促進國土綠化，達到愛林護林和擴大森林資源，改善生態環境的目的。中國的植樹節開始時是為紀念孫中山先生逝世。
